CHAMBER MUSIC AND REHEARSAL SPACE

Since 2006 Kouluniemi has featured international stars at its annual Open Air – Picnic Concerts. The artists have noted Kouluniemi’s exceptionally fine atmosphere in which to rehearse and prepare for concerts. In 2008 chamber music activities were initiated and lasted for one week. The aim for future years is that there would be 12 – 15 participants at Kouluniemi at the same time.
In this way it would be possible to form, for instance, piano or string trios, string quartets etc with different participants. Following a week of rehearsals in a free environment the intention would be to have a number of local concerts. In 2008 there were two concerts, in the Poleeni Concert Hall in Pieksämäki and Tampere-talo.
In addition to established musicians improving their own skills, the intention in future years is to start chamber music master classes for young as well as experienced musicians
